SUSTAINABILITY
ClipIT’s Commitment to Sustainability.
As our understanding of the planet's environmental limits becomes clearer, we understand our responsibility to drive and measure our performance with a focus on sustainability and our impact on the world around us.
We’re committed to making changes to reduce our footprint as a brand, be it through the design, production or shipping processes or through carbon offsetting projects.
Sustainability is a pillar on which we base all decisions. We will continue to identify areas where we can better ourselves and improve the choices of our customers and do more to limit our impact on the natural world.

Our Biodegradable Frames.
Our Eco Collection frames are made from Polylactic acid (PLA) which is a plant-derived ecological resin. The starch is extracted from renewable resources such as corn, cassava root, tapioca roots and sugarcane. It is obtained through microbial fermentation to extract the lactic acid, which is then refined, dehydrated and polymerised.
PLA has excellent biodegradability and can be completely degraded by the microorganisms in soil within one year after disposal through natural degradation or composting.
Composting will activate the degradation process at high temperatures (40-50 degrees Celsius) and high humidity.
Although it is a fully degradable polymer, you don’t have to worry about them decomposing in your hands the frames will degrade into oxygen and water and give back to the ground when disposed of properly.
Our Frames are EN 13432 CERTIFIED and conform to the EU Directive on Packaging and Packaging Waste (94/62/EC), an EU harmonized standard for compostable and biodegradable packaging.
Our Recycled Lenses.
The lenses in our Eco Collection are made from recycled material from the traditional lens manufacturing process in the optics industry.
In the lens manufacturing process all glasses lenses are cut to shape & size from a universal acrylic lens disc resulting in offcuts that have until now, not been utilised and have been considered waste.
Through our manufacturing process we are able to repurpose these offcuts to create optically correct lenses that are used in our Sustainable Eco Collection screen glasses.
These lenses are injected with the Blue Light Blocking filters, unlike the simple lens coating used by other brands. This ensures the efficacy of the lenses whilst further increasing the sustainability of our Eco Collection offering.
Our Packaging.
Careful consideration has been taken when deciding on the packaging elements paired back to this collection.
Recycled Felt Protective Case: Give your glasses the stylish protection they deserve with their cosy case. Created from recycled felt offcuts.
Soft Bamboo Cleaning Cloth/Bag: Our bamboo cloth is an alternative to the traditional microfiber cloths made from polyester. Not only is the bamboo alternative we’re using more environmentally
friendly and sustainable, it also has amazing anti-microbial properties which make it a natural hygienic choice.
The outer box and shipping packaging are all 100% recyclable.
